Leisurely walking through in an unannounced visit to the Occupy Philadelphia camp earlier this evening was Rev. Jesse Jackson, who offered encouraging words to protesters. Addressing the crowd in the Occupier's "mic check" fashion, Jackson reinforced the ideas of the movement by saying "this movement is for economic justice" and that he would stand with the people protesting too much war and too little peace.
Encircled by a mix of media and supporters, Jackson, who was in town for Joe Frazier's memorial service, addressed America's financial inequality, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, poverty and the student loan debate in his speech.
"Too few, have too much. Too many, have too little", Jackson exclaimed, with the crowd cheering and nodding in agreement.
To conclude his impromptu address to supporters Jackson demanded that the Occupiers never surrender. "Keep hope alive! Keep hope alive! Keep hope alive!" Rev. Jesse Jackson told the crowd.
