A Birthday Salute to "Fearless Frank"

Hidden City Philadelphia Celebrates a Philadelphia Architect along Boat House Row

Happy 172nd Birthday, Frank Furness! He was an architect who designed more than 600 buildings, and most of them are located in the Philadelphia area. Hidden City Philadelphia, a web magazine that aims to foster "public dialogue by the exploration of the intersection of people and place, and tension between the past and the possible future," is holding the Birthday event at Castle Ringstetten, the home of the Undine Barge Club. The Barge Club is a hidden gem that is said to have the most remarkable locker room in America.

The event will be catered and the event will also serve wine, beer and victorian cocktails. A tour of the building starts at 5 PM before the party. Festivities will commence at 6 PM at the Castle. Registration ends Nov. 10th, and the cost to register is $40 unless you are a Hidden City Philadelphia member ($25).  Visit Hidden City Philadelphia for more information on becoming a member.  Address is 4442 Kelly Drive, Philadelphia, Pa.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to explore two of Furness's lesser known, but remarkable "Hidden" spaces!
