Calling All Artists: AiO's Call for Artists to Create Riverfront Art Installations

Art in the Open is looking for artists to create urban environmental art installations along water front, May 18-20, 2012.

From May 18-20, 2012, artists and viewers alike will be able to draw inspiration from Philadelphia's urban and natural spaces along the city's two rivers. Art in the Open, a citywide event that celebrates artists and their inspirations for creating art, debuted in June 2010, showcasing a vibrant community of artists, institutions and galleries along the banks of the Schuylkill. For it's third installment, AiO will bring the same vibrant art community to the Schuykill banks— from Fairmount Water Works to Locust Street and Bartram Gardens — once again, showcasing a jury selected group of 40 artists. Interested in showcasing your art installation? Apply to have your installation come to life along the banks of Philadelphia's two rivers— your very own open air studio!

For Artists: Check out AiO's website for details and the application information.

For interested spectators: The sponsoring institutions will engage viewers with extensive public programs, before and during the three day event, May18-20, 2012.
